Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Gaston the host goes out of his way to make sure you have a good stay. From the free transfer from the airport to giving you free tours around the city and taking you to restaurants, helping with money exchanges and then providing support for your onward journey in Algeria. Gaston was always available on the phone or WhatsApp no matter where you were in Algeria. His assistant Sammy is a great local guide for Algiers as well and always available as well. We hired a car from Gaston as well, which was good. The apartment is spotlessly clean and in a safe, working class neighbourhood with nice markets and simple local food nearby which we liked. The main attractions are about 20 to 30 minutes walk away, for example the Grand Post. The apartment has a nice courtyard with tropical plants in it which we liked.
Negative: The only slight criticism is that the front bedroom can be a bit noisy early in the mornings due to the closeness to the street, there is however other sleeping places with the apartment.
